Home¶
LuaCord lets you write plugins for Spigot and Paper servers in Lua instead of Java. Lua is small and friendly, so you can go from nothing to a working plugin in a few minutes, and a plugin can be as simple as a single file.
Why LuaCord?¶
LuaCord plugins are real plugins, so you get commands, events, permissions and config files, and the whole Spigot API is available from Lua. When you're ready to share your work, you can pack it as a .jar and upload it to CurseForge or Modrinth.
LuaCord and Lukkit¶
LuaCord is a fork of Lukkit, originally created by jammehcow and others. Lukkit is archived and no longer updated, so LuaCord carries it forward: it works on modern servers, and existing Lukkit plugins should keep working.
This wiki is still growing, so until it catches up the old Lukkit wiki is still worth a look. It's very old, but most of it still works with LuaCord.
The LuaCord website¶
The main LuaCord website, luacordmc.github.io, has the download links for CurseForge and Modrinth, and the JAR generator.
